Google Cardboard is Google’s attempt at Virtual Reality for the masses. This simple piece of cardboard is meant to turn your phone into a rudimentary virtual reality viewer. It’s basically a do-it-yourself kit that gives you a very basic/introductory taste of VR. Note: this experience is not even close to a real VR headset – which is why it’s usually referred to as a “viewer” instead of a “headset” – but it’s still very cool and affordable. It is currently available to everyone and there are already thousands of apps available in Google’s app store.
