Oculus Go

Oculus Go is Facebook’s new untethered VR headset. It was just recently announced in October 2017 during the Oculus Connect conference. It is meant to be completely “standalone”, therefore it doesn’t require any phone or computer, and has no bulky wires to interfere with the VR experience. The entire Go package will cost $199 and be available in Early 2018. This represents a massive step toward large-scale adoption, since previous iterations of headsets cost hundreds of dollars plus the costs of high-end phones and computers.

The Go headset sits in the middle of the VR spectrum: between the high-end Rift/Vive and the lower-end Daydream/Gear VR.
